Drives: 2005 Toyota Yaris 1.4 D

hi recently ran out of fuel so topped up and got going again but now there is an orange light on the dash (engine light im told). i've been told that to get it to got out i need to disconnect the battery for a couple of mins OR i could do a certain combination with the trip meter and key.

can anyone help with this?

Try removing the negative battery cable from the battery for a couple of minutes and see if that clears the light.
