Well, my experience with the Rav4 was amazing. A full tank was lasting around 350 to 380 miles and I think that was pretty good. Now that I´m in Germany, I´m looking to get into a new car that is very economic at the pump. Although going around on the bike has been a great thing to improve my exercise level, in winter is terrible! But I´ve found that Toyotas in general are very good value with gas. The Yaris I rented once here in Europe was very good! I only stopped to get gas after 750 kms in the Autobahn!!
I´m now in Spain and envying my sister that puts only 44 euros of gas a month, and works 10 miles from home... But her car is not a toyota and it runs on diesel.

My 2007 Yaris is getting up around the 350-386 mile on a tank of gas also. I think if I stick with the speed limit when I'm on the hiway to and from work I should get around 400+ mark easily. Right now I'm getting about 38 mpg and I do 70-75 on the hiway.

As an update, I wish to report that I am getting about 40 miles per Imperial gallon or 33.3 miles per US gallon lately.

what kind of MPG do you get if you drive 80-85 MPH on the highway constantly?

on long trips with rental cars, i've gotten a dismal 32-MPG with a new Hyundai Accent and 33-MPG with a new Dodge Neon. all automatics and buzzing at 80-85mph.

i can get 27 MPG with in an LS1 V8 Trans Am convertible with an auto at these speeds. best was 31.5 MPG cruising at 75 MPH.

C5 Corvettes with a 6spd and 2.73 gears have reported 35-37 MPG crusing at 70mph on the highway. just wondering if it's worth it to get an economy car for my daily driving.

Sorry that I do not have a direct answer. If you are interested in the fuel economy of the Yaris, I guess you can figure out something by visiting this site:

Anymore, I'm far more interested in fuel economy than pretty much any other aspect of the vehicle. It's sad, I know.
