Sometimes speed might be the difference between life or death. I once had a VW with four difference color of fenders. Life was tuff, jobs were not enough. I was still in grade school. I was driving down the road and saw two guys walking down the road. All of a sudden, this imported car past me and slammed into them. Leaving one of them critically injured. I stopped and saw that one was in bad shape. I pulled him into my car because we were far from anywhere. No 911 at that time. I went as fast as I could but my car wasn't up to snuff regarding tires, performance, brakes and I couldn't hurry. He died in my car and the way his body turned from a human living color, to a deep purple, then to a pail yellow color. I'll never forget that.

Then I learn that the dude who slammed into them was his oldest brother, on his father side. Look like they had their differences regarding money/property. Everytime we went to court I had to relive the event all over again.

I pledge to myself that ALL my cars for the rest of my life will have the best. Ever since, from a Honda Civic, Mazda RX3SP, Mazda 323 GTX, Ford Escort GT, Chevy Nova 350 V8, and now a RAV4. They all have had the best for safety and performance regardless, not only for me. But for my family. Speed is something that must be use responsible and reliability goes with the name Toyota.

If this ever happens to me or to any of my love one, I want to give them and myself a chance to live. Not because of a simple maintains my car will fail and carry a guilty conscience. Trying is not enough.
